I have had the privilege and honor of working with Marlon Millner for eight years as we together sought peace with justice in the name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit. We have prayed together, sang together, strategized together, argued together, marched in the streets together, welcomed each other’s children into the world together, and laughed together. Along the way we’ve become friends, and our common bond in Christ, our common commitment to the justice and peace of God, and our deep friendship, have been great blessings to me.

Marlon wrote “Send Judah First” in 2002 as a Pentecostal objection to the then proposed war in Iraq and gathered hundreds of signatures. I was one of the ones who endorsed his letter and then Marlon sent it to the President and Congress. This action brought us together and we have been serving on the leadership team of PCPJ ever since. From anointing protest marchers with oil in San Francisco to dancing in the Spirit in Philadelphia, Marlon has been a guiding force in PCPJ. His strategic analysis, media skills, financial experience, and networking abilities have strengthened PCPJ in powerful ways. His love for people, heart for justice, and prophetic ability to speak the truth even when it hurts has blessed us beyond words. Marlon is a critical thinker, a clear-sighted visionary, and a truth-teller without whom PCPJ would not have flourished. I thank God for Marlon, for I have learned much from him and been deeply blessed to be his colleague and his friend.

And although Marlon has resigned from the PCPJ leadership team after eight years of wonderful service and we will no longer be working together as closely as we have, I wish him well in all his endeavors and look forward to the wonderful things the Lord will do through him in the years ahead.

Thank you, Marlon, you’re a great blessing and a great friend. ☺
